Why it matters
Blended CAC gives the all-in average cost to acquire a customer across every channel, paid and organic. It is the honest top-line number for overall efficiency. But it hides the wide variation between channels, which is where the real decisions are.
How it is calculated
Blended CAC = total sales and marketing spend / total new customers from all sources
What good looks like
Blended CAC is best read alongside paid or channel-level CAC. A flattering blended number propped up by free organic acquisition can hide paid channels that are deeply unprofitable.
