Outsourced Marketing
Also: Marketing Outsourcing
Handing some or all of your marketing to an external team rather than building it in-house.
Why it matters
Outsourcing lets a small company access skills and capacity it cannot hire for yet. Done well, it covers the gap between founder-led marketing and a real internal team. Done badly, it creates distance between the people who know the product and the people who tell its story.
What good looks like
The arrangement works when the external team owns outcomes and builds lasting context, and fails when it becomes an order-taker disconnected from the business. Continuity of people matters more than the size of the firm.
