A lead that has used your product, often via a free trial or freemium tier, and shown buying-signal behaviour through that usage.
Why it matters
PQLs are central to product-led growth: instead of qualifying on stated interest, you qualify on actual product usage, which is a far stronger signal. Someone who has hit a value moment in the product is more likely to buy than someone who downloaded a guide. It reframes qualification around behaviour, not forms.
What good looks like
Good PQL definitions are built on the usage patterns that actually predict conversion, key actions taken, value moments reached, not vanity activity like a single login. The test is whether your PQL signal correlates with real purchases.
