Email & Outreach

Reply Rate

Also: Response Rate

The percentage of recipients who reply to an outbound email, usually the truest measure of whether cold or warm outreach is working.

Why it matters

For outbound, replies are the signal that matters, because they reflect genuine interest and resist the privacy noise and gaming that distort opens and clicks.

How it is calculated

Reply rate = (replies received / emails delivered) x 100.

What good looks like

A healthy reply rate depends on targeting and relevance more than volume; consistent, qualified replies matter more than a high rate padded by out-of-office and unsubscribe replies.
